Deleting emails: Deleted emails do not go to the recycle bin. They go to the Deleted items folder.
Delete single emails by clicking the email, then tap the Delete key. Use Shift and Delete if you wish to delete the email permanently (to save you having to delete it again from the Deleted items folder).
To delete a block of emails. Click the first email in the block then hold down the Shift key and click the last one in the block. The block will be selected (highlighted). Then use the Delete key or Shift and Delete.
To delete an entire email folder's contents: Click the first email then hold down the Ctrl key and tap the A key (A is for All). This will select all the emails ready for deleting in one go.
To delete a quantity of selected emails: Hold down the Ctrl key and click all the emails you wish to delete. This will select the chosen emails ready for deleting in one go.
Another method: The picture below shows a block of emails selected except for 3. The whole block was selected, then the 3 to be retained were de-selected by clicking them whilst holding down the Ctrl key. The Delete key would then delete only the selected items in blue.
